From 12 to 14 September 2013, Centre Exams Managers from Austria, Germany, Scandinavia and Switzerland met in Berlin to celebrate 100 years of Cambridge English exams.

On Thursday evening, 12 September, Cambridge English Language Assessment invited all exam centres and colleagues from the English Language Teaching community to attend a reception at the British Embassy in Berlin. The evening was opened with a welcome from the British Ambassador, Simon McDonald CMG, and Dr Nick White from Cambridge Assessment.

Juliet Wilson, Director Network Services at Cambridge English Language Assessment, then gave a very interesting review of 100 years Cambridge English exams.

On the following two days colleagues from Cambridge English Language Assessment and exam centres participated in a conference at the GLS Sprachenzentrum (Cambridge English exam centre in Berlin). New developments and initiatives were introduced and discussed.

A gala dinner took place on the Friday evening in the restaurant Käfer in the German Parliament building. Six exam centres were awarded Certificates of Appreciation: Englisches Institut Köln, Provadis Frankfurt, Cambridge English Examinations Valais & Vaud East, Cambridge English Examinations Zürich Winterthur, British Council Vienna and Studieskolen Copenhagen.
